Summer TV Line Up

There's alot of buzz surrounding this summers TV shows. This summer I have started to watch a few new shows and continued to stick to some old favorites.
Mondays this summer are jam packed with good shows. On ABC viewers are giving the Bachelorette a rose of its own. Ali, who left last season's bachelor, Jake Pavelka, for her job, has returned this season to be the Bachelorette. At this point she is down to 2 men, hot and sexy Roberto and the sweet family oriented Chris. There has been a lot of drama on this season, one man was called out to have a girlfriend (or two) back home while another, my initial favorite, Frank left Ali heartbroken in Tahiti to return home to an old flame. There is sure to make for an interesting and emotional finale in two weeks.
ABC Family has a new show in its Monday night line up, called Huge. This show is about a weight loss camp starring Hairspray’s Nikki Blonsky and one of David Hasselhoff’s daughters. I personally have not watched this show yet as it interferes with the Bachelorette, but have heard good praise for it. The Secret Life of the American Teenager returns with new episodes on Monday nights as well on the same channel with more of the same teen baby mama drama.
ABC Family has another new show to its lineups. Pretty Little Liars can be seen Tuesday nights at eight. Pretty Little Liars was originally a book series but has been adapted for the small screen. The show has been getting alot of buzz and is frequently a top trending topic on Twitter. This show is about a group of friends with many secrets. Their friend Alison goes missing and the girls start getting mysterious text messages, emails, and letters. The letters have messages about the girls secrets, secrets they thought only Alison knew. The messages are all signed “-A.” Alison’s body is found and the girls are worried with the thought that someone else knows their dirty little secrets and that they are being watched.
Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are Big Brother nights. This is the first season of Big Brother that I have watched in its 12 seasons, and sometimes I have a hard time committing to three nights a week, but once you start its hard to turn your back.
Also on Thursdays I watch a new show to ABC at 9, Rookie Blue. This is a Canadian cop drama about rookies who are new to being police officers. They are followed through their mistakes and troubles as well as their victories and triumphs.
Reality shows are a weakness for a lot of people. I find myself watching the table flipping drama of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, the trials of teenage motherhood on MTV’s Teen Mom, and skateboard pro Rob Dyrdek’s crazy antics on Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.

Community: Abed and Troy

Community is a new comedy on NBC this fall. Notable stars in the show include: Chevy Chase, Joel McHale known for hosting E!'s "The Soup;" Ken Jeong, also known as Dr. Ken, the doctor-turned comedian who has been seen in movies such as The Hangover, Knocked Up and Role Models. Jeff Winger (McHale) is a lawyer with a void education whose being forced to attend community college. The show takes place at Greendale Community College where the faculty and students are nothing short of eccentric, all with their own quirks. Jeff starts a study group in the library for spanish class that he as with all the main characters in order to get closer to a pretty blonde named Britta, played by Gillian Jacobs. Jeff tries every trick he has up his sleeve to pursue Britta, but Britta puts a stop to all his advances. The show centers around the interactions between those in the study group.

The best part of the show however is the last 40 seconds. While the credits role at the end of most of the episodes, the camera roles on Troy, the highschool football star and Abed, the quirkiest of the group. In one episode they came up with a rap in spanish, and in another they make fun of people they think can't hear them.

Glee's Night Off

Glee is taking a night off this week. What does that mean for me? Instead, I'll be tuning into ABC Family's "13 Nights of Halloween" by watching a favorite childhood movie, "Hocus Pocus" while intermittently switching to the Phillies game.
The movie stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as 3 sister witches who died in Salem, Massachusetts almost 300 years ago and but are brought back to life in 1993 with a light of a candle by Max. Now the sisters are looking for immortal life and Max and his sister and friend have to save the town from the witches. I loved this movie growing up!
In other news, GO PHILLIES!

I'm a Gleek

If you haven't already figured it out, my favorite show is Glee. Wednesday was one of my favorite episodes so far, mostly due to the fact that spanish teacher/glee coach Will Schuster's crazy baby-napping wife was absent.

Puck's rendition of "Sweet Caroline" is one of my favorite songs done so far. It makes me want to buy the soundtrack that should be coming out soon.
Mr. Schuster's "Thong Song" and "Bust a Move" made me chuckle and at the same time made me feel awkward watching his embarrassing dance moves.
Thank God nothing like a Slushie facial ever happened at my high school. It sure would've woken us all up. I'm not sure why it was a deep brown though. That doesn't look appealing.
I hope Quinn tells Finn soon that its not his baby. Finn and Rachel are meant for each other.
